Thank you so much for the giveaway.

After surviving a tragic car accident with my daughter during his last few months overseas, I continued to chug along finding strength in my faith, family, friends and the examples of all the other spouses and soldiers pressing forward– and did my cloth diaper laundry for months from a wheelchair! 🙂

My husband is an Iraq Veteran. He was called over to Kuwait before the war was declared to wait for the word to invade Iraq. He was on the front lines of the war. I was pregnant with our first son during the start of the war. I had absolutely NO communication with my husband for over 4 months during the start of the war. It was the hardest and most emotional time of our lives! He was able to be home for the birth of our son. Unfortunately, he has Posttraumatic Stress Syndome. I struggle to understand him at times. It’s a sacrifice that he has made for his country. But sadly families are often affected as well! God Bless America!!!

  12. Jessika replied:

My DH is a Marine (veteran).

  13. Elizabeth K. replied:

My husband is one brave man. He works more days and hours out of the month than any person I know. He is a firefighter/paramedic. As if firefighting wasn’t enough, he spends 36 hours a week at his other job working for Murphy Ambulance. This morning he got off work, came home to spend some time with his girls and will be leaving again in 2 hours for work. The best part about this man is that he never complains. He also actively participates in the community on his day’s off, raising money for St.Baldrick’s is his favorite fundraiser of the year. It raises awareness for children’s cancer. My favorite saying about our relationship is; He may be your hero one day, but he is mine everyday.

  92. Erika Frank-Poletto replied:

I missed your post last week, I was offline most of the week getting ready for my daughter’s 5th birthday and the first week of kindergarten.

Even though I know the giveaway is over I wanted to honor my husband, he is a police officer in the NYPD and was there on Sept. 11th and for a month afterward digging at Ground Zero. While we try not to dwell on that day and look forward to the good things in our lives (especially our 2 girls) I know that his experience there has really shaped the person that he is. It also worries me a little when he has any sort of cold or bloody nose, I have a constant background fear of how it will affect his health in the future.

Thank you for recognizing the police, firefighters, and military and their families.
