It was the hardest and most emotional time of our lives! He was able to be home for the birth of our son. Unfortunately, he has Posttraumatic Stress Syndome. I struggle to understand him at times. It’s a sacrifice that he has made for his country. But sadly families are often affected as well! God Bless America!!!

This morning he got off work, came home to spend some time with his girls and will be leaving again in 2 hours for work. The best part about this man is that he never complains. He also actively participates in the community on his day’s off, raising money for St.Baldrick’s is his favorite fundraiser of the year. It raises awareness for children’s cancer. 92. Erika Frank-Poletto replied:

I missed your post last week, I was offline most of the week getting ready for my daughter’s 5th birthday and the first week of kindergarten.

Even though I know the giveaway is over I wanted to honor my husband, he is a police officer in the NYPD and was there on Sept. 11th and for a month afterward digging at Ground Zero. While we try not to dwell on that day and look forward to the good things in our lives (especially our 2 girls) I know that his experience there has really shaped the person that he is. It also worries me a little when he has any sort of cold or bloody nose, I have a constant background fear of how it will affect his health in the future.

Thank you for recognizing the police, firefighters, and military and their families.
